1. Who we are
Lorrit is a matching service. We connect transporters who have trucks returning empty with shippers who need cargo moved on those routes. We are not the carrier: the transporter who accepts a load carries it and is responsible for it while it is in their care.
2. Accounts
- You must give accurate details about yourself, your company, your trucks and your cargo.
- You are responsible for anyone who uses your account or your WhatsApp number to deal with us.
- We may suspend an account that gives false documents, misses loadings repeatedly, or breaks these terms.
3. Transporters
- Only accept loads your truck can legally and safely carry, within its licensed axle load limits.
- Keep your NTSA inspection, insurance (including goods-in-transit cover) and driver’s licences valid for every trip.
- Arrive at the agreed loading point on time, or tell the dispatch desk as early as possible if you cannot.
- Upload the signed electronic proof of delivery (e-POD) at delivery.
4. Shippers
- Describe your cargo accurately, including weight, dimensions and any special handling.
- Do not offer prohibited, undeclared or hazardous goods unless agreed in writing beforehand.
- Have the cargo, paperwork and loading labour ready at the agreed time.
- Pay the agreed rate on the terms confirmed when the load is booked.
5. Rates and payment
Each booking’s rate, payment terms and any fees are confirmed in writing (on WhatsApp or the platform) before loading. Payment to the transporter is released after the e-POD is confirmed by the consignee.
6. Cancellations, delays and claims
Cancellation and waiting-time charges are agreed per booking. Loss or damage claims are made against the transporter’s goods-in-transit insurance. We will help both sides with the paperwork, but we are not the insurer.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Lorrit is not liable for loss, damage or delay to cargo, or for losses from a transporter or shipper failing to perform. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Kenyan law.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Disputes go first to the dispatch desk, then to the courts of Kenya.
