Why we ask for it
Goods-in-transit (GIT) insurance covers the shipper’s cargo against loss or damage while it is on your truck. Shippers book return loads because they trust the carrier is covered, so every transporter needs valid GIT cover before accepting a load.
What we check
- A current GIT policy or certificate from an insurer licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA).
- The policy names you or your company, and lists or covers the trucks you register.
- The cover limit per consignment is at least the value of the cargo you accept. Tell us your limit so we only send loads within it.
- Cover applies on the routes you run, including cross-border legs if you carry transit cargo.
Before each trip
- Your policy must still be valid on the loading date.
- If the cargo value is above your cover limit, tell the dispatch desk before accepting the load.
- Report any loss, damage or accident to your insurer and the dispatch desk straight away.
Sending your documents
Send a clear photo or PDF of your policy schedule to the dispatch desk on WhatsApp. We’ll remind you before it expires.
